Case Study: 14 x 10,000m³ Giant Edible Oil Reserve Tanks for Sinograin Chaohu
Location: Chaohu, Anhui, China
Client: Sinograin (Hefei) Reserve Co., Ltd.
Project Value: $2.6 Million USD
Completion Time: 120 Days
Core Achievement: Successfully delivered a massive national strategic reserve base, comprising 14 giant tanks, on an aggressive schedule while meeting the most stringent quality and safety standards for edible oil storage.

Project Overview: A Pillar of National Food Security
This landmark project involved the construction of a strategic edible oil reserve base for Sinograin (Hefei) Reserve Co., Ltd. in Chaohu. The scale was immense: 14 vertical storage tanks, each with a massive capacity of 10,000 cubic meters. The completion of this base significantly bolstered regional and national food security, creating a critical buffer against supply chain disruptions. As the EPC contractor, we were entrusted with delivering this project of national importance to the highest possible standards.

The Challenge: Scaling Quality and Speed in a Mega-Project
Executing a project of this magnitude presented unique challenges:
Managing a Project Cluster: Coordinating the parallel construction of 14 giant tanks without compromising on quality or safety required unprecedented logistical and managerial precision.
Preserving Oil Quality: For long-term strategic storage, it was critical to minimize the oxidation and evaporation loss of the edible oil to preserve its quality and economic value over time.
Uncompromising Safety and Quality: As a national reserve asset, every weld, every component, and every procedure had to adhere to the most rigorous standards, requiring a flawless quality assurance system.

Our Solution: Precision Engineering on a Grand Scale
We deployed a multi-faceted strategy to overcome these challenges:
"Zoned and Phased" Construction Management: We divided the site into manageable zones and implemented a phased construction strategy. This allowed multiple specialized teams to work simultaneously on different tanks in a coordinated, efficient manner, preventing bottlenecks and ensuring steady progress towards the 120-day deadline.
Advanced Floating Roof Technology: Each tank was equipped with an internal floating roof. This roof floats directly on the oil's surface, dramatically reducing the vapor space above the product. This technology is highly effective in minimizing evaporation losses (typically by over 95%) and reducing the risk of fire, directly addressing the challenge of quality preservation.
100% Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): To guarantee absolute integrity, we subjected every single weld on all 14 tanks to 100% non-destructive testing, such as radiographic or ultrasonic testing. This zero-defect approach ensured the long-term safety and reliability of these critical assets.
