Engineering for Structural Integrity and Corrosion Control
A 5,000 cubic meter oil storage tank is a significant structural investment. Its longevity hinges on material science and welding quality.
Material & Fabrication: We construct the tank shell from Q235B carbon steel plates, selected for its optimal strength-to-cost ratio in atmospheric storage. The key differentiator lies in our welding protocol. Using submerged arc welding (SAW), we create full-penetration seams that are subsequently inspected using Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). This ensures the structural integrity required to support the massive hydrostatic load of a full tank-approximately 22 meters in diameter and 13.5 meters high.
Combating Internal Corrosion: Oil cargoes are inherently corrosive. To counter this, we apply a dual-layer epoxy resin coating (total thickness: 200 μm) to all wetted surfaces. This isn't merely paint; it's a chemically bonded barrier that prevents the oxidation and pitting caused by sulfur compounds in crude oil and the detergents in refined fuels. This internal protection strategy is central to achieving a design life of 20–25 years.

Manufacturing Quality Assurance
Precision manufacturing is non-negotiable for a vessel of this scale. Our process adheres strictly to API 650 and GB 50128 standards:
- Precision Layout: Steel plates are CNC-cut according to CAD profiles to ensure perfect fit-up before welding.
- Controlled Welding: Shell courses are joined using automated SAW processes, followed by rigorous NDT inspection (RT/UT) on all critical seams.
- Surface Preparation: Prior to coating, surfaces are blasted to Sa 2.5 standard to ensure maximum adhesion of the epoxy layer.
- Final Validation: The completed tank undergoes hydrostatic pressure testing to verify structural soundness and coating spark testing to confirm barrier integrity before delivery or site erection.

Field Applications Where Reliability Matters
These tanks form the backbone of critical infrastructure:
Petrochemical Refineries:
Serving as crude oil feed tanks or intermediate storage for products like naphtha and diesel.
Fuel Distribution Terminals:
Acting as bulk storage for gasoline and diesel before dispatch to service stations.
Power Generation Plants:
Providing strategic reserves of heavy fuel oil for boiler combustion during peak demand.
Marine & Offshore Terminals:
Functioning as temporary holding tanks during ship-to-shore transfers.
