2. International Performance and Safety Standards: These are the "how-to-build" benchmarks that underpin directives.
- Containment & Structure: ISO 668 (container dimensions), ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, API 650 (welded tanks).
- Safety: ISO 28300 (Petroleum/chemical industry fuel storage), NFPA 30 (Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code), IEC 60079 series for explosive atmospheres.
- Measurement: OIML R 117 for fuel meters, ensuring trade-grade accuracy.
3. Operational and Environmental Certifications: These are often project-specific.
- Environmental: Certifications for Vapor Recovery Units (VRU) from bodies like the California Air Resources Board (CARB) or TÜV.
- Extreme Environment: Certifications like the "Arctic" notation mentioned earlier, proving functionality in severe cold.
