Storage tanks are containers used to store media transported through long-distance oil and gas pipelines. Oil storage tanks at the initial station of an oil pipeline are used to collect and store oil and ensure a stable oil supply. Storage tanks at the terminal station are used to receive and store incoming oil and supply it to oil-consuming units. Gas storage tanks at the terminal gate stations of gas pipelines are mainly used for peak-shaving of urban gas supply and are gradually being replaced by underground gas storage facilities and pipeline gas storage.
