The full manufacturing workflow of large atmospheric chemical storage tanks includes engineering drawing review, steel plate cutting and rolling, assembly, welding, non-destructive testing, anti-corrosion coating, hydrostatic test and final acceptance. Every link has independent quality inspection records to achieve full traceability of product quality.
Welding is the most critical process in tank fabrication. More than 70% of tank safety hazards come from welding defects such as pores, cracks and incomplete penetration. Our welders hold corresponding qualification certificates. All welding parameters are recorded on site according to the welding procedure specification (WPS). After welding, weld seams will be cleaned and prepared for non-destructive testing.
NDT (non-destructive testing) mainly includes UT ultrasonic testing and RT radiographic testing. These inspection methods can detect internal defects inside welds without damaging the tank body. Defective welds will be marked, repaired and re-tested until they meet acceptance standards. NDT reports will be provided to clients as delivery documents.
Anti-corrosion treatment is another key point. For tanks installed outdoors in coastal salt spray environments, we select high-performance anti-corrosion paint systems for external surfaces. For inner surfaces, coating materials are selected according to stored media. Strong acid, alkali and solvent liquids require special lining or coating solutions.
We offer two construction modes: factory prefabrication and on-site assembly. Factory prefabrication brings better working conditions and stable quality control. On-site erection is suitable for oversized tanks which cannot be transported as whole units.
