Fixed fuel depots need roads, land title and environmental permits. Remote iron ore mines in West Africa, island port projects in Indonesia and border-road construction camps in Central Asia have none of those on day one. Zhongneng Huajian's answer is the skid-mounted anti-explosion refueling station: a factory-integrated unit where the tank, pump, meter, electrical cabinet, fire extinguisher box and spill bund sit on one steel skid, shipped in a 40 ft frame.
What is inside the standard ZN skid
20–50 m³ SF double-walled horizontal tank (steel inner + FRP outer) with interstitial leak port
Explosion-proof centrifugal pump, 50–80 L/min dispenser, mechanical or electronic totalizer
PLC cabinet with level alarm, overload cutoff, earthing interlock
Anti-static grounding reel, fire extinguisher and sand box
Optional solar PV + battery for sites without grid
Optional CCTV and RS485 link to site fuel management software
The whole package carries the company's explosion-proof certification for anti-explosion baffle skid-mounted refueling units and leaves the shop with a function test video, wiring diagram and English O&M manual.
Engineering controls that matter offshore
In a dust-heavy mining site, the biggest hazard is not fire-it is static accumulation on the hose reel and pump motor. ZN grounds the dispenser body, tank shell and skid frame to a common copper bus, tested below 4 Ω. The FRP outer shell of the SF tank resists soil moisture if the skid is semi-buried, and the interstice is pre-piped to a vacuum leak alarm even though the unit is aboveground, because clients want the same monitoring language as their permanent depot.
Deployment cases
Although ZN does not publish every end-user name, its sales team references: a 3-unit skid fleet for a Sudan gold mine (diesel + lubricant dual compartment), a 40 ft container fuel station for a Philippine reclamation project, and a disaster-relief mobile fuel point for a provincial emergency bureau in China. Average site readiness to first fuel: 48 hours after skid set on compacted gravel.
FAQ snippet
"Can a skid-mounted station replace a permanent gas station?" For throughput under 10 m³/day and temporary permits, yes. For public retail with 50 m³/day, you still need a permanent SF underground tank and canopy. Skids are transitional infrastructure, not a loophole.
Zhongneng Huajian treats skid stations as a subsystem of its tank business, not a resold trailer: the tank is made on the same rolling line as the CNOOC shell plates, then dropped into the container frame.
